I agree, The DaVinci Code Should Be Banned
I'm not saying this because I'm one of those Jesus Freaks. As a matter of fact, I never got to experience such spiritual highness in order to be one. However, I still believe in Jesus, and I also believe that He is the Son of God, and that He is the key to Heaven. So there you go - my faith in three seconds.
Back to the "most controversial movie evah," The DaVinci Code. I don't know if the story itself is a good enough reason for the film to be banned. I mean, the book is everywhere and is more detailed than the movie. The book is also accessible and could be downloaded from LimeWire (which I did by the way). So why ban the movie and not the book? Well the answer is shockingly…shocking…
Don’t get me wrong I love Tommy! But he isn’t exactly the Robert Langdon I had in mind. Remember Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump? Yeah? You remember? Good.
The book on the other hand is awesome, and it’s even more awesome because it’s “bootleggable.” I read the book and it freaked me out for days until I came to a conclusion that the book is consisted of collective facts that are manipulated for the sake of confusing my already confused self. My point is; the story is still fictive in spite of its sick attempt of trying to sound historically accurate. But since the story is so convincing, the chances of people rethinking and redefining Christianity is very high…
And that is why the Catholic churches in the Philippines want to ban this movie. I want this movie banned in the Philippines because the people there are already poor and by eliminating a possible money-eating activity, many kids will have lunch for one day. This movie is unethical in more ways than one. First, it’s trashing a religious figure, and second, it’ll make the poor poorer.
I’m sorry to burst thy bubbles peeps, but the movie just ain’t that good. I can go on and on and on about why you shouldn’t watch this and just save your money for X-men: The Last Stand. But if watching this movie will make you feel any cooler for one day, then go for it, why should I care? It’s your money.
To end this I just want to say that I’m not Catholic, but today, Catholics and I unite.
Oh, and for the record, I downloaded the film.
